CRS Instalment No 4

Well how the days fly by..... or at least the mossies but unfortunately they don't just keep on going they stop for a nibble.

Now Saturday, been back from Lamu since Tuesday. Jennifer was going to grace us with her presence by doing today's blog but she has seriously fallen out with the computer and is now 'sulking' so you will have to put up with me again!

Not done that much since Tuesday, just been hanging out at the Oprhanage, sleeping, snuffling eating ugali and beans - yum. Don't get jealous we will teach you all how to cook Ugali and beans when we get home. Anyone for a dinner party at mine?!

Jennifer has been doing a bit of teaching and exam marking - don't ask, do not dare, do not go there if you value your life and your ears!!!! Seriously we tried to work out the answers to an exam together and we had great difficulty completing it - no not Swahali but ENGLISH... The kids had no chance and surprise surprise they all failed and apparently will now suffer the cane. Kathleen did make the comment that maybe the teachers should be caned rather than the children.

Had a new addition in the way of a volunteer, Jamie, from Putney 17 years of age. Great hit with the boys, so we have lost half our fan club. Seeked our revenge yesterday by producing balloons full of water, which drew such a huge crowd and Jamie was left all by himself..... Seriously very nice boy and allowed us to pelt him with the balloons.

Tomorrow is d-day, beach day, 67 seven children, off to buy squash and biscuits for me and Jennifer to eat on the beach, custard creams please however Jennifer is being difficult again and demanding kit kats - in this heat!!!!

We are looking at what to do next weekend as Jennifer is leaving a week on Monday. So we are searching for a lovely white beach with bars and local restaurants and somewhere to rest our head!

Not sure when I am returning, thinking through a few scenarios before decisions are made. Must get on and change my flights though, as booked to return with Jennifer.

Thats all for now. We have managed to upload two photos in the space of 1 hour, so you might have to wait for the bulk until we get home.
